Day 1 Topic: Know Your 'Why'

Day 1: Know Your 'Why'

In order to achieve lasting changes in our behavior and enjoy the benefits of our efforts, we have to start with WHY. Why are we here? Why does this matter? Why do we want change of any kind?

Practice: Write down your motivation to eat more healthy, plant-based meals and then share it by posting on the Day 1 post in our online community or by replying to today's email.

Day 2 Topic: Create Your Mantra

Day 2: Create Your Mantra

Neuro-linguistic programming is an approach to communication and personal development that focuses on our thinking, our feelings and our language. When we believe that we can achieve something and connect our feelings and language to that belief by speaking positively about it, we literally begin to build a neural pathway in our brain that aligns us with the outcome we hope to achieve.

Practice: Create your own personal mantra or positive affirmation. Building on your 'Why' from yesterday's homework, create a present-tense mantra or slogan to say out loud. Share it in the online group or by replying to today's email.

Day 3: Goals vs. Systems

Day 3: Goals vs. Systems

A goal is a short-term activation. Goals are great especially when they are S.M.A.R.T! However if we want to achieve lasting health habits in our lives we need to implement systems.

Practice: Read the SMART goals worksheet. Consider one of your goals and whether or not it fits into that acronym. Now think about what system or process you may want to implement to achieve that outcome for the long term.

Day 4: The Balanced Bowl Formula

Day 4: The Balanced Bowl Formula

We all know that eating more plants would be good for us. Or, if you didn't already know that, I hope this week has shed some light on that fact for you! The question is: How do we know which plants to eat when and how much of each? Enter the Balanced Bowl Formula!

Practice: Watch today's coaching video and then download the PDF of the Balanced Bowl Formula! Bonus: Email me or post in the online group and tell me one item from this PDF that is your favorite and you're entered to win today's prize, a $25 Amazon gift card!

Day 5: You Are Worth It!

This week we spent a LOT of time focusing on our daily behavior and health habits. We talked about knowing WHY you want to make a change and how to turn that motivation into a positive daily thought. We talked about the difference between goal setting and building a system or routine.

Yesterday I gave you a blueprint for how to build yourself a balanced healthy bowl and make sure it's got all the nutritional components you need.

Today, all I want you to do is stay the course. Finish strong. Keep on top of those 5 healthy habits one more day and come out of this 5-day challenge able to say "I did it!". That just means doing your best in each decision that you make and prioritizing your wellness.

Remember: You are worth it. These practices are designed to help you feel good in your body as you age. That's the point.

Practice: Enjoy day 5 and check in with me this weekend. Have a beautiful day!
